Ten Lives Cat Centre is the largest dedicated cat shelter in southern Tasmania. As a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation, Ten Lives works to rescue, care for, rehabilitate and rehome unwanted cats and kittens — while promoting responsible pet ownership and feline welfare.
🐱 What Ten Lives Offers
- Temporary shelter, veterinary care, socialization and rehabilitation for stray, surrendered or feral cats and kittens.
- Adoption program: all cats and kittens available for adoption are health-checked, microchipped, de-wormed, vaccinated and ready for a new home.
- Foster-care program: people can become foster carers, hosting cats/ kittens at home until they are ready for adoption. Support, supplies and vet care are provided.
- Volunteer opportunities and community involvement: there are many volunteer roles available, helping with animal care, adoption support, transport, events, etc.
- Educational outreach: through their “Edu.Cat” program, Ten Lives works with schools to promote responsible cat ownership, welfare, microchipping and wildlife protection.
